I am trained in the Vitalist tradition with roots dating back to Hippocrates in the 4th Century BC. Vitalism means to examine, investigate and remove obstacles to health on all levels – physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual. Vitalism incorporates all aspects of science, specifically physiology and pathophysiology, and equally values knowledge from ancient herbal traditions, empirical observation, instinct and intuition.
Everything we need can be found in nature.
I work with herbs, nutrition and lifestyle changes to educate and empower my clients to take charge of their own health. I am a certified herbalist & nutritionist with at least 1400 classroom hours, as well as continuing education in herbalism, nutrition, physiology, and flower essences for emotional support. As Vitalists, it is essential to use the four directions approach of practice:
South = personal experience West = intuition North = historical East = scientific
I firmly believe that the foods we eat is the #1 place to start with any health concern we may be experiencing. The famous quote by Hippocrates really sums it up – "Let food be thy medicine, and medicine by thy food." No matter what foods you are currently choosing, there are always ways to make simple changes that can have a huge impact on your wellbeing.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE THE SERVICES THAT I PROVIDE DO NOT REPLACE THOSE OF A LICENSED PHYSICIAN OR ANY OTHER LICENSED HEALTHCARE PROVIDER. I AM NOT TRAINED IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF DISEASE ACCORDING TO THE STANDARDS OF MEDICAL SCIENCE.
